How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

On a whim, I decided I felt like uploading some of my really old (pre-Pastry) comic projects here. None of them ever got further than just a few pages, sometimes only one. There are quite a few, however, and... well... they're really old. So I'm just giving you a fair warning, these'll likely show up in my Scraps later today. If you're not watching my Scraps but this is the sort of thing you're interested in, take a look later on. If you -are- watching my scraps but don't want to deal with a small flood of things, then uh... at least you know it's coming!

I'm looking forward to seeing them.

On a semi-related note, do you have any advice on settling on an idea to go with and work on? I want to get something started myself, but I keep waffling on which of about five different ideas I should work on.

When I see something like Flaky Pastry, it can get easy to think, wow, this guy can just crap out solid gold whenever he feels like, since you really stick by your updates and the comic always looks so slick. I really appreciate being able to see that, there actually were some false starts along the way. As an artist on the cusp of only that point right now, it's easy to be intimidated to see a respected artist with gallery full of solid KOs.

The only recommendation I can give you about that is to make sure that whatever you choose is something you're confident you can stick with. If you don't like drama, don't do drama; the same applies to comedy, horror, romance, fantasy, science fiction, etc. etc. If you get tired of the same thing after a while, you can blend genres. If long epic stories fail to keep you motivated, do something more episodic, maybe even with a payoff in every strip

That last point is pretty much what made Flaky Pastry work for me, where the previous projects had not. Some people prefer to work on long storylines, though. The important is to find something that works for you!
