Summer HEAT 03: Starchasm by falingard Summer HEAT 03: Starchasm by falingard
Third one! :iconstarchasm:'s Valence, a mad scientist - only with a bit more hair and firepower. And cool boots. You can't go wrong with cool boots.

I love drawing with my mechanical pencil, but... pencil has one big drawback: SMUDGING. Thank Photoshop for the Dodge tool, though.

EDIT: I again forgot to link the references:

Cool pose. And the hair looks very wild. :D

Interesting change to the costume.

Yay! Another one that gets 10/10 in HEATing scale :D
Can you add one more thumbnail reference to "mine" sketch too? The one that is colored and have some finished-artwork decency in it? ([link]). Pretty please :D

Thanks!

And sure, no problem. I hadn't included it just because... well.. I didn't use the colour reference for my sketch, haha XD

Yeah, but this feeble attempt at promoting myself by better art won't hurt XD And I guess some people could be curious of her color scheme after all ;P

Oh, and sorry for one mirror comment under deviation with Granny, I forgot to use "respond" option at first.

Yayyy mad scientist with poofy hair!! Love the goggles and all the outfit details. Something I haven't been able to add in my own drawings yet! Need to practice some more..!

There is such a thing as too much detail, though :D

...a territory I am fearlessly venturing into for this series - it's part of the HEATing concept :woohoo:

Well this is totally killer, sir! Oddly I think my favourite part is the little floating droids, but the detail in this work, as is pretty common in your art, is astonishing. And such personality! And unmanageable hair! Very cool!

Thank you, miss! :D

Actually the two droids were from the reference pic... which I forgot to link (fixed now!)

Oh man, you just gave me one of those "Ah ha!" moments. I never thought of using the dodge tool to eliminate smudging. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh man, cool boots, goggles, and a bunch of buckled straps. Doesn't get any better than that.

Eureka! :lightbulb:

You're welcome! The dodge tool is great for cleaning up lots of smudges, scanner dirt and unwanted lines from sketches :XD:

I put them there in place of the cog button/badge she has in one picture!
I'm sneaky like that.
