I know, I know, everyone's doing it. But I figured it might be interesting to see this meme filled out.

I sort of expected my "improvement" to be subtle at best... but at least 2009 is a step up from 2003. Hopefully I'll keep improving!

Edit: I assure you, I wasn't being lazy, I really didn't notice the "description" boxes until now. Eeeeh... maybe I'll go put something in there later.

Subtle is right... But when you lay it all out side by side, there is noticeable improvement. Especially in coloring and lighting, some big advances there; line quality seems to get gradually more confident, too, never a bad thing.

Though I think what's most interesting is how it all stays stylistically consistent, even while evolving - I mean, I could probably recognize most of those as 100% falingard straight off.

Seeing all these improvement memes, I've noticed that the ones covering early teens through college have huge obvious leaps in quality, but the ones covering mostly post-graduate years are a lot more subtle... I wonder why. Is it just some kind of natural growth spurt that mellows with age, or what? Or is there less pressure to develop? (I'm always afraid I've stopped improving at all the past several years.)

Welll.... in my case college was ART college, so definitely a good reason for there to be improvement there! It was also before 2003 and not pictured here XD I'm also worried that I might not be improving so much anymore D: Maybe in general it's a sort of plateau effect as people get old and lazy and more confident in their skill?

A lot of people have mentioned the style thing! I can't disagree with it, but I'm not sure how it's so noteworthy... I've just... always drawn like me XD

By me not being able to see thy art improvement is likely because I and many others cannot begin to figure into your plane of high art.

In order words, I can't tell of any obvious improvement because your art looked awesome to begin with. (Although if it helps, I note a definite improvement in Flaky Pastry since its start.)

This is one of the cooler ones of these I've seen. Your technique improves vastly, but your style stays fairly consistent, which is actually really cool since yours is a pretty recognizable one!
